From ERP To Shelf In 60 SecondsConnecting MS Dynamics Business Central to Electronic Shelf Labels. A live integration bridge delivered from concept to production in just 8 weeks.
For a Saudi retailer managing a large product catalog through MS Dynamics 365 Business Central, promotional pricing was a recurring operational bottleneck. Every time a discount was approved in the ERP, store staff had to manually update physical shelf labels across the floor a slow, error-prone process that created visible gaps between the system price and the shelf price.
With thousands of active SKUs and frequent promotional campaigns, the sheer volume of manual updates overwhelmed store teams. This lag not only drained operational resources but also created compliance risks and customer friction at checkout due to mismatched prices.
The client already had Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) hardware installed battery-powered digital price tags that can be updated wirelessly. What was missing was the software layer to connect the ERP to those labels automatically, accurately, and in near real-time.
"The ESL hardware was in place. The gap was the intelligent bridge between the ERP's discount approval workflow and the label on the shelf. That is exactly what we built."

CSCS designed and built the ESL Connect App: a unified integration application that polls MS Dynamics Business Central APIs every 60 seconds, processes approved pricing and discount data, and pushes updates directly to registered ESL shelf label devices via the ESL vendor API.
Instead of relying on fragmented scripts or manual data exports, the application operates as a robust, automated background service. Packaged as a single deployable unit combining a sync engine, backend service layer, and management UI, it minimizes the operational footprint and simplifies IT management.
CSCS structured the engagement into three tightly scoped phases, completing the project with zero schedule slippage. By prioritizing hardware validation early in the timeline, the team eliminated downstream integration risks.
